I agree. We are already and always in "heaven," we just lack the "eyes to see" and the "ears to hear." That is why I think all authentic spirituality is about pulling the rug of illusion out from under us, and why most organized religion is about giving us an endless list of illusions to play with.
So, when you are ready, let's move on.

What a truly enlightening dialogue between the two of you! I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying it! Is this entire blog going to BE the book, or are you writing a book based on the blog? The reason I ask is that you have written some things that I want to remember and share with others, and I'm thinking I need to print out a hard copy to be sure I have it.
Also Rabbi Rami, thank you for your latest post (9/1/08) about authentic spirituality, illusion, and organized religion. To me, it doesn't need to get any deeper than that (referring to your other blog).
This is Rami.
Thanks, Karen. Our plan is to turn the bog into a book. It will require a bit of editing, and our original hope was to include people's comments in the margins, which may or may not be feasible.
The key is to find a publisher who is willing to take a chance on this. Mike and I have written one other book together (Let Us Break Bread Together, Paraclete Press), so we do have a track record.
Pray for us.
And that I shall do!
With so much of our focus on the Middle East, and knowing that much of the strife comes from deeply rooted ancient traditions through the main religion of that region (Islam), have you considered working with an Islamic cleric (not sure of the correct term) to write a book from the perspectives of the 3 different religions?
